Oslo

Majorstuen

I arrived in Oslo with 20kgs of life packed into my backpack and 20 hour bags packed under my eyes.

View from my window, you can see the Mtn on the right
Since then i have gained a House, a bed, 2 couches, shelves, tables, a love for IKEA, an old 90's hair dryer, a job, new friends, a hatred for IKEA, chairs, jeans, shoes, debt, a Gym membership and more hangovers then you can shake a chicken salsa burger at.
Bedroom

We live in a 3 bedroom apartment in Majorstuen, which the boys did really well in finding. Just a short walk to work and its 1 or 2 stops from the center of town (more of a city really). I am working in a really cool little Cafe/Restaurant/Bar which i am really enjoying as well.

The city itself is really compact, so you can walk a lot of places, and once i get a bike you can get almost everywhere. There are lots of parks located all around the City and when the weather is good everyone gets down there in bikinis and shorts and has a bbq. They really make the most of the good weather in summer, any excuse to be outside and they are.

Its not as expensive as i thought it was going to be. Only a little more then Australia. The big difference is Alcohol. Spirits cost an arm and a leg, or just lots of money if you would prefer to pay that way. You cant buy Alcohol on Sunday (Bottle shops etc) and there Alcohol laws are really tight.
Steemy drying his curls
Expensive alcohol and cheap Gyms....Maybe       there is a link here as to why everyone is so good looking?

Needless to say i have landed on my feet (hence the need to purchase shoes) in Oslo and its looking like its only going to get better.

Sydney

You could take 1 000 000 photos of the bridge, and i did
So after four short winters, three long summers, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Greece, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, England, Portugal and Jochberg I finally made it home to Sydney for an extended period.

Luna park. No idea what it ended up saying
I was pretty happy to leave Kitz as the last month of being shacked up in my apartment while everyone else was snowboarding and partying was pretty tough. Ski towns dont have much to offer when you cant Ski or drink.

With a few hours sleep and all my luggage over my right shoulder, i had 14 hour transit before i even left out of Heathrow. I have done some pretty tough budget traveling throughout my life but this was up there. The only thing taking my mind off the weight of my pack was the pain in my opposite shoulder.

Mrs Macquaries Chair
I arrived on the first of April to a big hug from my sister (Zeina), who hadnt changed a bit! (unfortunately). Jet lagged, emotional and just relieved i managed to get my left arm pit through customs. As almost 2 days of traveling in a sling had me smelling like rotten fruit.

Mum and Kokes
I spent the month catching up with family, old friends and new beers. Taking photos, eating food, watching footy, watching horses, watching Asians, watching the rain, hugging mum, eating tabouli, listening to triple j, listening to Asians, running, pies, paying for Alcohol, chicken salt, movies, popcorn, being told Jagermeister was not allowed to be served as a shot, being told shots have to be drunk at the bar, pub meals, happy chef, KFC, laughing, playing pool, catching trains, sleeping in taxis, shopping, chicken kebabs, Asians, Coopers Pale Ale, Hahn Super Dry, Bundi, Rate exchanging, hating the Ozzie Dollar, dumplings, being denied entry after two beers, strawberry Oaks, laughing about the time we met Lennox Lewis, Buck hunter, leaving because the music was to loud, rice crackers, Oporto, Masterfoods BBQ sauce, fish and chips, jeans and thongs, sushi, trying to steal tequila, running in thongs, chocolate, BURGER RINGS! Catching up with Family, friends and spending a lot of time down at the Harbour and in the city.

Kokes
Things i have missed more then most people understand.

After a few weeks and the wettest start to an Autumn in Sydney in 21 years, my shoulder healing up nicely and the Boys in Oslo finding an apartment. I decided it was time to to get myself to Oslo and start my new life in Scandinavia.

One of my 100 photos of the Bridge, spent some nice nights down here
I had an amazing time being back home, and seeing my family and friends was priceless (although my bank account begs to differ) and i really appreciated what an interesting place Sydney could be if you know where to look. I can now see myself living there again one day..... before this trip i could not. Ill try not to leave it so long again before i visit.

Thanks to everyone that i caught up with, and sorry to any i did not. This blog is to try and keep in touch with you all and hopefully this will stop you from all annoying me asking me what i am up to. Its a little more descriptive than Facebook and more interesting then emails.
